SIICA/SYIS Joint Symposium – Multi-omics approaches in immunological research, 3-4 November 2023 – Rome
Following the great success of the “yEFIS 1st Symposium: Shaping the Future of Immunology in Europe” (10-11 November 2022, Berlin-Germany), organized by the European Federation of Immunological Societies Young Immunologist Network (yEFIS), the Italian Society of Immunology, Clinical Immunology and Allergology (SIICA) members and the Swiss Young Immunologist Society (SYIS) members announce the organization of the “Multi omics approaches in immunological research” Joint symposium that will be held in Rome, Italy (3rd and 4th November 2023).
With the objective of fostering the principles of yEFIS to build a European network for young immunologists, this symposium aims at gathering European early-career researchers and internationally recognized speakers by promoting the exchange of knowledge through oral and flash talk presentations, poster sessions and dedicated workshops.
Considering the fast advent of omic- technologies, this symposium aims to show the power of the cutting edge technologies (i.e. single cell RNA analysis, spatial single cell analysis, metabolomics) that have so far revolutionized the study of immunology, guiding the young researchers at the suitable approach for their researches.

SYIS/yEFIS at the European Mucosal Immunology Group Meeting, 12-14 July 2023 – Bern
SYIS will be present at the EMIG 2023 in Bern from July 12-14! Don’t miss the great line up of speakers and the opportunity to get an update on the latest developments in Mucosal Immunology. Deadline for travel grants and early bird registration: 28.2.23. Limited to 300 participants. More information here.
SYIS and yEFIS will host a joint oral presentation session at EMIG 2023 with abstracts selected among SYIS and yEFIS members. There will be SYIS and yEFIS prizes for the best talk and poster presentations among members.
SYIS General Assembly, 6 March at 17.30 CET
The SYIS hosted its second general assembly (GA) in a hybrid format – virtually on Zoom and in person in Zürich, followed by an apéro for networking. During the GA, the SYIS Board gave an overview of our former activities and future plans. In addition, the SYIS Board for 2023 was elected.

SYIS had a dedicated session at the next SSAI Annual Congress.
SYIS members had the possibility to share their work with a broad audience of Swiss
immunologists.
Logo Competition

The SYIS encourages all YIs to showcase their creativity and artistic talent. For this reason, we have started a logo competition to represent the voice of our community and be used in future communication, on Social Media and on our Homepage.
The designer won a one year Basic Researcher SSAI membership (up to 100 CHF)
